Time for Self Care – Introducing Radical Wellness

“One of the most valuable gifts you can give yourself is time.”  Oprah Winfrey

When I read the above quote from Oprah, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I realised that I had been sucked into this maze is life with targets, desires, duties and obligations. Of course, all those things are essential. The race to get the big house, the fancy car and the flashy watch can be justified, as it is a “rat race”. The society has set the bar for you already. But as one of my friends put it beautifully – Even if you win in the rat race, you are still a rat.

Self-care to me meant party hard, drink alcohol and indulging in meals with friends and family. However, it was becoming apparent that the shallowness of all this was not going to last long. I had to find a new definition of self care for myself.

One of the biggest barriers to self-care is time. Sadly, there is no magic fix to finding more than 24 hours on a day. Realistically, you just have to make time for what is important for you.

I quickly realised that self-care was anything BUT what I thought. I rediscovered the real meaning for how it sat right with my soul.

I realised self-care ACTUALLY meant

 

Nurturing your Physical, Spiritual and Mental Self and also Investing in your Future Self.

It is with this introduction that I would like to invite you to join me for my forthcoming Radical Wellness Class – where we learn an integrated approach to health, wellbeing and healing.
